What is Archnet?
Archnet is a design studio technology services group within the College of Built Environments (CBE). Archnet provides technology and design studio computing resources, providing support for Windows XP Pro and Mac OS X design studio workstations, personal computers, design applications, and laserjet printers and plotters.

Where is Archnet located?
We are located in Architecture Hall, Room G51. This is where the help desk, plotters and printers are located.

What resources are available in the Architecture Hall studios?
Each studio contains at least two Macintosh computers, one of which is setup with Boot Camp to run Windows XP as well as OS X. Studios also include either a tabloid or letter size scanner. Wireless and hard-wired ethernet connections are also available for individuals wishing to connect their own computers. The studios in Architecture Hall 260 and 230 also include a Laser Cutter. Visit the Laser Cutter web page for more information.

What equipment is available for check-out use?
Archnet has no computer or other equipment available for loaned use. CBE students can sign up for the Equipment Loaner Program in the Architecture and Urban Planning Library to take advantage of the loaner equipment there. Instructions on how to sign up and more information on the program, including equipment lists, is available on the CBE Loaner Program website.

In addition, UW Classroom Support Services offers a similar loaner program with more equipment, including some new Wacom tablets that should be available for loan shortly. To learn about this, visit the CSS website.

File Storage Policies
Files stored directly on Architecture Hall computers can be deleted at any time. Architecture Hall computers are only for temporary storage of files that are backed up in another location. Back-up files to personal disks, CDs, DVDs, JumpDisks, your Dante account, or other long-term archive media for safe storage. You are responsible for keeping copies of your work.
